Our Story
It’s official – the NuVasive Spine Foundation and the Globus Cares grant program have joined forces to advance access to charitable spine surgery for patients living in under-resourced communities around the world.
As of January 2025, we are proudly operating as Globus Cares (FKA the NuVasive Spine Foundation).
Our medical mission program will continue to provide funding, spinal hardware (both Globus Medical and NuVasive product lines), clinical services (IONM and product support), a network of volunteers, hands-on logistical support, and the generous support of Globus Medical.
Uniting to Advance Patient Care
Globus Cares brings together the best of both former programs and will build off their 15+ year experience with medical mission trips. We provide comprehensive support options from long-term partnerships to one-time grants, a full-time staff who specializes in medical mission operations and the generous support of Globus Medical. Our volunteer led teams will now have access to both NuVasive and Globus Medical technology and clinical services.
In 2024, as we were working to bring the two programs together, we supported more than 244 life-changing spine surgeries, through 28 medical missions to 18 countries. Now that we are operating as one, we hope to continue to grow that impact and strengthen our partnerships around the world.
We appreciate your support as we continue to evolve our programs. If you have questions, please reach out to globuscares@globusmedical.com .

Why We Do It
Imagine living in debilitating pain without access to surgical care or even the chance to be diagnosed by a spine surgeon. Waiting year after year, as symptoms worsen and quality of life diminishes. Even if you are lucky enough to be offered surgery in your home-country, you couldn’t afford it. These patients are the “why” and together with our program partners, we provide hope to thousands of patients around the world.

Meet Daniela:
Honduras Medical Mission Patient
“I was living in horrible pain. I couldn’t walk, stand-up, go to the bathroom or take care of my son. When I stood up for the first time after surgery, I felt like the happiest woman in the world. I feel like I have my life back and can be the mother my son needs.” – Daniela
